August 2008 I decided enough was enough with regards to my weight. I decided to do something about it, and this time NOTHING would stop me, distract me, or lead me off track.
By December 2008 I had lost a stone by being careful with what I ate, but I realised that if I was to be successful long term I would need to get more active as well.
I started running. I followed a simple beginner's running programme which got me to 30 minutes continuous running in 8 weeks. After that, the rest is history. I have now completed numerous 5 and 10K races and a half marathon.
